Did you know, that according to the U.S. National Cancer Institute, more than two-thirds of all medicines found to have cancer-fighting properties come from rainforest plants.
The rain forest jungles of the Amazon provide some of the most effective natural “anti-cancer” remedies and one of our favorites is from the Sangre de Drago tree or Dragon’s blood (nicknamed that because due to the dark red resin that appears when the bark is sliced open) This variety of Sangre de Drago from the Amazon is helpful for all types of cancer but is used primarily for cancers of the reproductive organs, such as prostate, testicular, penis, cervical, uterine, and vaginal in women.
Sangre de Drago offers three especially “cancer-slaying” capacities:
In 2002, at Albany Medical College, the Journal of Ethnopharmacology published a study and found that Sangre de Drago could induce “apoptosis,” or cell cancer death. Cancer cells are very clever as they “hide” from the immune system, so they are not easily destroyed and usually continue to grow and spread throughout the body. Because of this and other impressive effects using Dragon’s Blood, the Albany research team recommended that Sangre de Drago be “evaluated further as a…source of anti-cancer agents “.
Dr. J.E. Williams, an international medical expert, is an enthusiastic fan of Sangre de Drago as a medicinal. He says, “the sap can combat the dangerous effects of diarrhea induced by prescription drugs, chemotherapy, radiation, microbial infections, travel-related exposure, viruses, and even AIDS”.
As shown in a study that Miller conducted in the late 2000s, dragon’s blood is also incredibly effective in alleviating post-operative emesis (the nausea and vomiting that can accompany the administration of opioid narcotics after surgery or chemotherapy treatments). After duplicating those symptoms in adult ferrets, Dr. Miller and his colleagues found that dragon’s blood reduced morphine-induced vomiting and retching by 77 percent.
Often another side effect of chemotherapy is neuro damage. Benefits have also been reported with diabetes-related skin ulcers and sores (applied topically) and nerve endings, nerve pain and nerve inflammation have been helped by taking the Dragon’s blood internally. Helps with neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. For these reasons and more, the Budwig Center regularly recommend Sangre de Drago to our cancer patients with our Clinical and Home Distance Care Programs.
